Andy is a quadriplegic. He has just enough mobility, biceps and index finger, in his arms to move a paddle. Quietwater got a project going to set Andy up with adaptive paddling gear that would allow him to resume paddling. The gear and the kayak were donated to the Wisconsin DNR, Andy's employer, on his behalf. Andy is the ADA accessibility coordinator for the WI DNR. This gives him a statewide area to promote outdoor recreation opportunities for people with disabilities. The gear he now has allows him to showcase water-based recreation and allow other paddlers a chance to try out adaptive paddling gear for the first time. <next  gallery page  last>
